FAQ
Are digital billboards a hazard for drivers?
This is a question that has been of serious concern to municipalities throughout North America. Independent studies have shown that they are not. These are not large TVs. They don’t show live action. Every ten seconds, six times a minute a new picture comes on the screen. This has proven NOT to be a distraction to drivers. If you need further information please contact us and we will steer you to some of these studies.
Do I get exclusive use of the billboard for my industry sector while I am advertising?
Yes, by location. At the moment we only have a single board in operation. So, if you are advertising on that board you will have exclusivity for that board. As we grow your exclusivity will be limited to the boards that you have chosen. If a customer has booked a board first then you will not be able to be on that board until their contract expires because exclusivity comes on a first come first exclusive basis.
Is the LED screen like a giant TV?
Yes and no. The boards have high clarity screens that look like large TVs. But, they do not show live action video, they only show ten second static ads.
Don’t the huge screens consume a lot of energy from the power grid?
No. All GreenBoards digital billboards are solar powered by their own attached solar panel arrays. This power is uploaded to the grid. So, the boards, because their solar arrays are a net contributor to the power grid as they use less power than they create.
Don’t people consider these large boards as a blight on the environment?
This, once again, was an issue of interest to municipalities and therefore was a part of most studies. Overall, digital billboards have been getting a positive reaction in studies done to date. In most of these studies the boards were not solar powered. We like to think that our solar-powered GreenBoards would meet with an even greater approval rate. And again, if you need further information, please contact us and we will steer you to some of these studies.
